A commitment to the gold standard in health & safety

Gallagher has achieved ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) – a global standard which recognises our commitment to ensuring a safe workplace.
ISO is the International Organization for Standardization and those familiar with it will know Gallagher also holds accreditation in a range of other areas such as quality (9001) and information security (27001).
“The assessment was extremely comprehensive with an external company looking at a range of evidence over six days to assess the areas required which includes health and safety leadership, competency, incident response and reporting, continual improvement, and more,” explains Group Health & Safety Manager Ben Brown.
The standard applies to the design, manufacture, and supply of our Animal Management and Security products made across both our Hamilton and Pukekohe sites.
“Gaining ISO 45001 means we can have confidence that our safety management system is world leading and benchmarked against top organisations. It demonstrates that we are heading in the right direction that we started five years ago, and shows the commitment and ownership by the wider business,” Ben explains.
What’s more is that the assessment was achieved with no areas of non-conformance identified, and no areas for improvement suggested.
As a global business, it’s increasingly important for Gallagher to hold certification in key areas. ISO shows that we’re committed to the highest standards, and is a key purchasing factor for many of our Security tenders too with various ISO standards listed as a requirement.
“Gaining ISO 45001 really is a collaborative effort. We’re proud of the health and safety culture we’re building and look forward to even more continuous improvement in the future.”
