Generosity shines bright over Christmas
At Gallagher, the recent holiday season wasn’t just about relaxing and celebration – it was about making a difference.
This year, our New Zealand-based team had the option to choose between a Christmas gift or donating its value to a charity. In a heartwarming display of generosity, 200 team members embraced the spirit of giving and chose to spread joy by giving back to the community.
The impact was felt across three incredible Waikato organisations, all of which have been in touch with Gallagher to share their appreciation.
Kids in Need Waikato
The largest recipient of Gallagher’s donations, Kids in Need Waikato, received support from 90 people. This charity provides vulnerable children with essentials they often go without - such as clothing, bedding, toiletries, and school supplies. The organisation serves children placed in foster care or living with relatives who may struggle to afford basic necessities.
Donations will help replenish supplies and provide care packages that directly improve children’s lives. A typical care package includes warm clothing, a pair of shoes, school bags, lunchboxes, and personal hygiene items. These small comforts can boost a child’s confidence, provide a sense of belonging, and ease the challenges of an uncertain home life.
Hospice Waikato
Donations from 63 Gallagher people will help provide ongoing support for Hospice Waikato, which provides end-of-life care to individuals and help for their families. The organisation’s mission is to deliver comfort, dignity, and compassion to patients facing terminal illness, ensuring that no one walks their final journey alone.
Hospice services go beyond medical care to provide emotional and spiritual support for patients and their loved ones. Contributions help fund critical services, including grief counselling, in-home care, and respite for caregivers. Each donation helps keep the focus on compassionate care when it’s needed most.
Paws4Life
With the support of 47 Gallagher people, Paws4Life will be able to continue its work rescuing and rehoming animals.
Every donation helps provide shelter, medical treatment, and a fresh start for pets who deserve a second chance at life. From veterinary care to food and rehabilitation, these contributions are invaluable to Paws4Life’s mission of giving animals a safe, loving environment.
Contributions help cover expenses like vaccinations, desexing, and emergency medical procedures. Everyone who chose to donate to Paws4Life is helping ensure that more animals will find their forever homes in 2025.
