21 March, 2012

HAMILTON, NZ - Sir William Gallagher has been elected a Distinguished Fellow of IPENZ (New Zealand Institution of Professional Engineers) in recognition of his eminent contribution to leadership in the profession of engineering and as a leading innovator and entrepreneur in the creation of technological products such as the world-leading electrical fencing products, animal weighing and perimeter security systems manufactured by the company he leads.
IPENZ is the professional body which represents professional engineers from all disciplines and the group sets internationally bench-marked qualifying standards for degree qualifications in engineering, serving engineers by securing formal recognition for their professional standing. The organization describes a Distinguished Fellow as ‘a Fellow who has distinguished themselves by their work in engineering, technology, science, or otherwise whom the Institution desires to honour’.
In announcing Sir William’s award, IPENZ acknowledged the Waikato business leader as “a great New Zealand ambassador internationally, reaching across cultural and language barriers in establishing his products as pre-eminent in overseas markets. His integrity and professionalism as a global business entrepreneur have been proven in many countries, and his skills in leadership and communication are nationally and internationally recognised.”
It continued, “He is a true New Zealand entrepreneur and business leader, with high standards of professional business conduct and integrity being the hallmarks of his approach to his community and work endeavours.”
