Gallagher's Stephen Hoffman to Retire at the end of December

30 July, 2020

HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND – After more than 30 transformative years with Gallagher’s Animal Management business unit, Stephen Hoffman will retire at the end of the year.

Stephen joined Gallagher in 1989 and has served in a number of roles, joining as a Territory Manager and also spending time as International Sales Executive prior to his current role as Global General Manager, leading the business unit’s sales, operations, product and marketing functions. In that time revenue increased by over 300 per cent and its footprint expanded globally.

“For more than three decades of our over 80-year history, Stephen’s focus has always been on creating win-win-win relationships with our end customers, reseller partners around the word, and for us,” Group CEO & Director Sir William Gallagher says. “As a result, he’s a consummate relationship builder and has been integral to forming the kinds of long term, successful business partnerships we have around the world today.”

During his career Stephen led the company’s acquisition and successful integration of Gallagher’s operations in the United States, Canada, Australia and Chile as well as two other New Zealand-based businesses. His greatest reward has been to be part of the team that has seen Gallagher pick up multiple – and often consecutive – ‘Supplier of the Year’ awards in recognition of that culture of enduring partnerships.

Stephen said, “It’s an honour to have been part of Gallagher. I’ve had so many memorable memories with Gallagher people, customers and distributors around the world and I will miss that very much. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my wife and friends but look forward to watching the success of Gallagher continue. Thank you to everyone I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.”

A celebration commemorating Stephen’s service will be held when he departs Gallagher in December 2020. He will work with Sir William and Deputy CEO & Executive Director Kahl Betham to ensure a smooth leadership transition occurs and a strong appointment to the Global General Manager – Animal Management role is made.
