HAMILTON, NZ - Gallagher - global leader in Animal Management, Security, Fuel Systems and Contract Manufacturing - partnered with the Foundation of Youth Development and other businesses to improve 2200 children's lives in New Zealand.
Margaret Comer, Corporate Services Executive of the Gallagher Group New Zealand was pleased to support the initiative for the second consecutive year which saw six Gallagher volunteers along with teams from DairyNZ, Westpac, Fonterra, Deloitte, PWC, Perry Group, Genesis Energy, and Harkness Henry all abseil down the side of Gallagher's 22 meter Head Office in Hamilton, New Zealand.
"The Drop Your Boss fund raiser was a perfect fit for Gallagher - helping youth, having fun, and being just that bit daring and adventurous, we also raised a significant amount of money. The opportunity to challenge your boss or work colleague to go backwards down a five story building doesn't come along very often, but we were delighted with the response" said Margaret Comer.
The foundation's chair, Craig McBeth, said about $20,000 NZD was raised from the event and all the funds raised will go towards the Stars Programme - a high school programme where senior students are given leadership and mentor training to then work with first year high school students.
