HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND - Gallagher has today released further information regarding support for the historic WBO World Heavyweight Title bout between boxing sensation Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Jr.
In a joint initiative to expand the reach out to rural New Zealand, Gallagher has partnered with Farmlands Co-operative, New Zealand’s largest rural supplies co-operative, to host a series of regional events showing the televised bout with proceeds going to a range of charities.
Sir William Gallagher said, "We are looking forward to working together to help generate buzz, excitement and support across the whole of the country and hope that it will also help to strengthen local networks for farmers. There's very little that can beat a sporting event to bring a community together, and this one promises to be outstanding."
Farmlands CEO Peter Reidie says it was important for the co-operative to support an initiative which provides a host of benefits to its provincial shareholders.
"We are delighted Gallagher is sponsoring this fight and we’re even happier that we can help them bring this to the regions,” he says. “Gallagher is a fantastic partner to us, so it makes sense that we work together to ensure rural New Zealand has an opportunity to experience this once in a lifetime event as well. The bonus for us is we get to support the charities around New Zealand that are directly connected to our shareholders.”
More information will follow in the coming weeks regarding what events are taking place in your region as well as detail around which charities will benefit.
