Try to use plain English and common words to describe your intranet sites.  



Good Link Titles:

HR

Research

Purchasing

Travel Reservations

Help Desk

Legal

Bad Link Titles

myHR  (too many sites put "My" in front of the name)

Knowledge Portal  (avoid the trendy names)

EPD   (never use acronyms)

One Travel   (don't use branding words in site names)

Enterprise Support (confusing to new employees)

eLaw  (don't put "e" in front of site names)
